Coraline was a book written by Neil Gamen published in 2002. This book was made into a movie in 2009, directed by Henry Selick. The cast includes Dakota Fanning (Coraline Jones), Amanda Troop (Mel Jones and Other Mother), and Keith David (The cat). One day, when Coraline was exploring her house, she found a small door that was locked. She called her mother, Mel Jones, to open it. When she opened that tiny, little, door, it was when the story began. I love this movie because it’s horror and I really liked the mood of this movie.
One of the best parts was the characters’ voices. My favorite voice was the Other Mother, who had short, straight hair and had buttons on her eyes. She is my favorite because it made me think that she was waiting for me behind me. I think all of the actors were the best and feeted their characters. I think the music was perfect for the film. When it was bright and thrilling, the music was delightful. When it was a scary film, the music was spooky. The story was thrilling, adventurous, and scary. I watched this at night and it made me keep thinking of Other Mother. I would guess the message is don’t trust someone too easily and if someone is so friendly or kind to you, that person wants something from you.
I really like Coraline and enjoyed it while watching it. I would watch more. The cast suits and feet the characters. Now, it is my favorite movie even though it is horror. The story was exhausting and wasn’t obvious. The idea of this movie was surprising. I would rate this movie 5 out of 5 potatoes. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes horror movies, or anyone who likes movies that are not obvious. It’s extremely frightening and creepy.
